On A Personal Note:After 38 years of marriage, I lost my wife to cancer in October, 2000. Ethel supported me in my love of hot rods and building things. Pictured below is the 1966 Pontiac LeMans that I built for her. She loved the horsepower, so there was a 454 engine with 390 HP, a 400 Turbo, and a 12 bolt Chey rear-end. It had disc brakes, A/C, and cruise control. I did ALL the work on this beauty myself including the candy apple red paint and dyed interior.Probably her favorite vehicle was our 1964 Chevy Pickup (pictured below) with a 355 small block and a 350 Turbo transmission. It had cruise control and 2 bunk beds in the rear for the kids, 2 stereos so the kids and Ethel and I could listen to separate tunes and yes A/C front AND rear!!! Ethel and I met on a blind date at, where else, a drag strip!!! She went to lots of races with me and supported me until I had a transmission explode in a ball of fire as I went through the traps. She just said "I will not watch you kill your crazy ass", so that was that!! Racing continued but without Ethel watching!
